Pau d'arco | Boost The Immune System, Part 1

Why The Immune Boosting Formula Does What It Does, Part 1

An Immune Boosting Formula

Many people who use our immune boosting formula express amazement at all of the things it can do.

  • Boost the immune system
  • Knock out colds and flu
  • Relieve arthritis pain
  • Improve the effectiveness of chemotherapy
  • Even make tumors go away
  • Eliminate candida
  • Dry up cold sores and shingles when used topically
  • Destroying infections and tooth abscesses
  • Etc.

They write in and ask what kind of magical Echinacea we use that does so many things. I have to admit these questions always make me smile. Yes, Echinacea is a major component in the immune formula I’m describing, but it is not the only ingredient. This formula is a blend of Echinacea, Pau d’arco, Suma, and a medicinal mushroom complex. With that in mind, and to get a better sense of why this formula does what it does, let’s talk about one of those “other” ingredients,

Pau d’arco

Pau d’arco, also known as Taheebo, comes from a tree that grows primarily in tropical rainforests. The inner bark of the tree was one of the major herbs used to promote health and immunity among the Incas, and its use has continued up through present day tribes of Indians in South America. Pau d’arco contains at least 20 powerful bio-chemicals from the quinnone family (the same family as vitamin K and CoQ10). The two most important are xyloidone, a powerful anti-viral and anti-bacterial compound and lapachol, a powerful antioxidant from the naphtoquinone family. Of special interest is the fact that Pau d’arco trees do not develop fungus growth. This is all the more remarkable when you consider that Pau d’arco grows in damp, humid, hot environments. This resistance to infection is reflected in the ability of Pau d’arco extracts to destroy yeast (candida), fungus, parasites, viruses, and bacteria. In South American studies, Pau d’arco has been proven effective against cancer and leukemia and is renowned for its strong anti-tumor properties. It is also a strong anti-inflammatory and pain reducer, which makes it very effective in dealing with arthritis. The bottom line is that Pau d’arco is useful in aiding the fight against all chronic diseases.

There are, in fact, numerous accounts of the successful treatment of cancer patients with Pau d’arco. For example, in a study done in 1981 in Brazil with nine cancer patients, pain was relieved and the size of the tumors was reduced in all patients. Three of those patients experienced complete remissions using nothing but Pau d’arco. Note: many cancer patients who have used Pau d’arco were also receiving traditional medical treatment. In other words, it appears that Pau d’arco can be used successfully in conjunction with ongoing medical therapy. In fact, there were a number of reports that Pau d’arco appeared to increase the effectiveness of the chemotherapy treatments with a concomitant decrease in negative side effects.

Note: Pau d’arco works as an anticoagulant, resulting in reduced blood clotting. This is a good thing, but it means that anyone using blood thinners such as coumadin will probably need to have their doctor reduce their medication once they start using any formula that contains Pau d’arco on a regular basis.

If you’re coming down with a cold, don’t mess around. Attack it with a vengeance.

Up your dosage of polysaccharides to 4 or 6 a day.

Take a 10 droppersful of the immune boosting formula every hour for six straight hours (that’s one full bottle)

Take an entire bottle of the pathogen destroyer for two straight days

Also, it’s worth noting that viruses love to stake out territory behind the eardrum. You can go right after those puppies by putting 2-3 drops (NOT droppersful) in your ear. Keep the head tilted for about 30 seconds to let it penetrate; then do the other ear.

And finally, there’s a trick that I saw Jon do with the immune formula (he learned it as a yogic cleansing technique) that I thought I would never be able to duplicate. I resisted it for almost two years. But with a little practice, I learned to do it, and it’s remarkably effective. It’s possible to put the formula on a Q-Tip and insert it through your nose deep into the sinus cavity. Then you just twist it to squeeze off the tincture right at the source of the problem. It looks disgusting, but it’s actually quite easy. Just practice before you have a cold so you’ll know how when you need it. (Use a Q-Tip with a little water on the end for practice.) It’s like riding a bike; once you learn how, you’ll never forget. It really helps to take a deep breath, hold one nostril closed and then slowly exhale through the other nostril. This expands the sinus cavity making it easy to insert the Q-Tip. DO NOT force the Q-Tip. Just hunt around until you find the opening that goes straight up and back. Once you find it, the Q-Tip easily inserts its full length deep into the sinus cavity. Then gently rotating the Q-Tip squeezes off the formula deep in the sinus cavity. The trick is to practice before you have a cold, when your sinus passages are wide open. And make sure you don’t force it. It’s all a question of finding the right angle for the Q-Tip to slide right in.

The Group Liver Detox

For a number of years now, Jon and I have done a combination liver and blood cleanse right after the holidays during the first free week in January. Last year, a small number of people (about 8) heard about our little ritual and decided to join us. This year we’ve decided to invite all of you to join us. (There is strength in numbers.) The liver and blood detox is one of the most powerful components of the Baseline of Health program, and right after the holidays is a perfect time to do it. We’ll have more details in our next newsletter, but for now, if you’re interested, just mark your calendar from Wednesday, January 8th to Sunday the 12th and join the fun.
