Detox Program - Annual Global Detox Event History

The way this event evolved is kind of fascinating. For a number of years, Jon and Kristen have been doing a liver detox in early January as a way to clean out their bodies after holiday indulgences, lose that little bit of extra weight they've gained, and break some of the bad eating habits acquired over the previous holiday weeks.

As their health regimen continued, the rest of the world seem to fall woefully behind. In 1985, between 60 and 70 million Americans were affected by digestive disorders. Today it's close to 100 million. Colorectal cancer, one of the most severe digestive or gastro-enterological diseases, is the second leading cause of cancer deaths.

Fortunately, not everyone wanted to become another statistic.

Concerned about their own health, several friends of Jon and Kristen asked if they could join in on their little ritual. Very quickly, two friends turned into ten and the first "group" detox was created. It turned out to be so much fun and so much easier to do as part of an “internet event” (because of the group support) that Jon and Kristen decided to open it up the following year.Sign up for the 2007-2008 Annual Global Detox Event brought to you by Jon Barron and the Baseline of Health Foundation

In January of 2003, Jon invited anyone who was interested to join in for free and participate in the 1st Annual International Group Liver Detox. Amazingly, over 100 people from 15 countries around the world signed up and completed the detox. Everybody had so much fun (no, really) that we turned it into an annual event.

Last year, over 600 people, from more than 30 countries participated including countries such as Nigeria, China, Serbia, and Lebanon. For the first time, major health organizations such as The Health Sciences Institute and Newstarget.com joined in and the radio shows and health magazines around the world helped promote it.

"It is exciting to see more people worldwide take back their health by purging the growing number of toxins in their systems,” stated Jon Barron. “There are thousands of different chemical compounds, drug residues, pesticide traces, and poisons now unsuspectingly present in our organs and tissues, and helping our bodies excrete these toxins is now essential to staying healthy and avoiding illness.”

Last year we also noticed that more people participated in the entire detox: started with a warm-up Colon Cleanse and then incorporated a five-day juice fast with cleansing herbs specifically used for detoxing and rebuilding the liver, gallbladder, and blood.   Detoxers reported: “feeling light and alert,” “I lost over 10 pounds,” “this is how a healthy body should feel,” “all of my senses are alive” to major health benefits such as “reduction in blood pressure,” “relief from arthritis pain,” and reduced symptoms of colitis, candida, diabetes, and IBS.

This year, we invite all of you who participated last year to join us once again – along with newcomers. Our sponsors--Health Sciences Institute, Newstarget.com, and Healthy Trends Radio--are back and doing everything they can to get the word out! World peace may take a long time to achieve, but perhaps if we have healthy bodies and minds, it is one step closer to a happier environment.
